UPDATE - PUBLIC MEETING The Mayor's Steering Committee for the Portland Mall is hosting a public hearing from 5-7pm, Tuesday, October 21st at the Portland Building (1120 SW Fifth Ave.), Room C. I have been told that the sign-up sheet for those who wish to speak will be available around 4:30. Speakers may be limited to 3 minutes, so if you have a lot to say, bring some written comments to turn in to supplement your spoken overview. Whatever your opinions about this project, this may be your best chance to have some say, as the plans are not yet finalized and the input received during this public process may have some influence on decision makers. The Transit Mall is Changing... The City of Portland, Metro, and TriMet are in the process of planning the addition of light rail to the Transit Mall, as well as a renovation/revitalization of the existing mall design. The following document is a response to these proposals. The final version of this document will be presented at a public hearing on October 21st, 2003. Feedback and opinions are appreciated. If you feel you agree with this document and would like to be added as a signatory, please contact me.
